INNOVATION
A LIGHTWEIGHT COMPONENT IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE DEVELOPMENT THAT HAS GONE INTO IT
We consider all relevant factors such as construction space, component and process requirements, possible materials, thermomechanical treatments and complementary forging and mechanical processing right at the beginning in the ideas and quotation phase. This is how we are then able to make a component that is ready to install and specifically designed to meet the customer's needs. To achieve this we use an enormous range of engineering tools and methods.
LEIBER Innovation Team provides general support when it comes to generating lightweight engineering ideas – both internally and externally. This is where new forging technologies are developed, such as the simultaneous hybrid forging of aluminium and steel materials. Materials development also comes in at this early stage and supplements innovative designs and constructions by providing tailor-made properties and maximum strength, where required.
