BIONIC LEIBER SEAT STRUCTURE

For us, lightweight design is not an end in itself, but a mission. We draw on our extensive expertise to make key components in a wide range of applications both lighter and stronger. A prime example of this is the bionically optimized LEIBER seat structure, which offers significant advantages over standard components. MATERIAL OPTIMIZATION

The ideal material for high-strength lightweight aluminum construction: application-optimized LEIBER brand alloys, such as AluSpace®—an alloy based on EN AW-7175 and specifically designed for the aerospace industry—offer improved properties in terms of yield strength, tensile strength, and fracture toughness compared to standard values.

In addition, we perform product-specific in-house heat treatment, such as T79.

 
 
 

LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN

While maintaining the same structural performance, LEIBER lightweight components can reduce weight by up to 15% compared to fully machined variants. RAPID PROTOTYPING

A quick path to a finished lightweight solution: LEIBER enables the rapid production of near-production prototypes and small batches. This ensures short development cycles and early validation of geometry, function, and manufacturability.
 
 
 

FORGING ADVANTAGE

Stronger in every fiber: During forging, the grain structure of the aluminum alloys is aligned to match the component’s geometry. The material thus conforms to the primary load paths. This results in improved fatigue strength, notch toughness, and behavior under cyclic loading compared to machined components or other manufacturing processes.

MATERIAL EFFICIENCY

Stripped down to the essentials: LEIBER’s near-net-shape forged components drastically reduce machining requirements. This minimizes material waste, machining time, and production costs.
 


 

DEVELOPMENT & SIMULATION

Reliability at the core—from concept to ready-to-install product: Thanks to in-house FE analysis, crash simulation, and topology optimization, rapid iterations are possible—without the need for external interfaces.

PRODUCTION INDUSTRIALIZATION

At LEIBER, lightweight construction starts with one-off pieces and knows virtually no upper limits. From prototypes to small-batch production and on to mass production.
