TEAM LEIBER BEATS THE HEAT
TUTTLINGEN | Ok, ‘weather’ is always a factor. And yes, it is warm in summer. However, when considering ‘run & fun’ in Tuttlingen, it is simply not possible to ignore the climate this year. The heat that the LEIBER Leichtlaufteam and the dedicated helpers at our sponsor stand had to endure was simply too intense – yet they still managed to achieve outstanding results.
Tobias Maus could hardly believe it when he was called onto the stage for the award ceremony at ‘run & fun’ on Saturday evening. He simply wanted to ‘run a good race,’ as he said, and in his first participation in the LEIBER Leichtlaufteam, he immediately won the M40 class over the 10 km distance. Congratulations! To achieve this, however, he had to battle through kilometre after kilometre for almost 44 minutes in temperatures of around 30 degrees Celsius until he crossed the finish line at the fairground in Tuttlingen. Bartolomiej Zbaski had already shown his mettle as the fastest man from LEIBER in 21:43 minutes, while Sara Olkowska and Carolin Bischoff were the fastest women from the Leichtlaufteam in almost identical times of just over 28 minutes over the 5 km distance. This short distance was particularly popular with 30 participants from LEIBER.
Polish marathon relay team on the podium for the third time in a row
We are equally proud of our Polish colleagues, whose marathon relay team already stood on the podium in 2023 and 2024. In 2025, the athletes from Ruda Śląska climbed the podium again and secured an excellent third place on Sunday with their unflagging running power. Deep respect is also due to Marcin Orlowski and Ireneusz Stiller, who took on the marathon and finished 18th and 37th overall out of 83 starters, as well as Holger Bacher, Sascha Bett and Niklas Bräunlinger, who competed in the half marathon. Niklas Bräunlinger battled the heat to finish eighth in the M30 age category with a time of one hour and 45 minutes.
Never before have there been so many LEIBER runners on the tracks
It was impressive to see how all LEIBER participants braved the tropical climate on June 28th and 29th in various disciplines. For the team it's still all about enjoying sport together. To this end, LEIBER brought more ‘Leichtmacher’ than ever before to the track for ‘run & fun’ this year. The LEIBER Leichtlaufteam 2025 consisted of a total of 68 women and men, who competed in various running disciplines.
Visitors queue up for slush ice cream
LEIBER also demonstrated its commitment with its sponsor stand. An impressive 360 litres of delicious strawberry slush ice cream, equivalent to two large bathtubs full of LEIBER red refreshment, were distributed to visitors at ‘run & fun’ – delicious advertising for the Leichtmacher team. However, guests were not only attracted by giveaways, but also by the BMW GS motorcycle on display as a showcase for LEIBER aluminium lightweight products, which aroused their curiosity about the company and its field of business. The Tuttlingen sports event, which LEIBER has been supporting as one of the main sponsors for three years, once again proved to be an important public relations tool. It should be noted that ‘run & fun’ 2025 once again broke the participation record. As a result, noticeably more visitors flocked to Tuttlingen and created a festive atmosphere at the LEIBER party night. There, the LEIBER team showed that it is not only at home on the running tracks, but also knows how to party.
