Data collection on our website

Cookies

Cookies are used on some pages of this website. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain viruses. We use cookies to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are “session cookies”, which are automatically deleted after your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser the next time you visit.

You can configure your browser to inform you before storing cookies and/or to store cookies on a one-time basis only or only in individual cases. You can also prevent the use of cookies in general or have them automatically deleted when you close your browser. Please note that disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

Cookies that are necessary to enable electronic communications or to provide certain functions that you wish to use (e.g. the shopping cart function) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies for the purpose of ensuring the error-free and optimised provision of its services. To the extent that other cookies are stored (such as cookies that serve the purpose of analysing your surfing behaviour), these are covered separately in this Privacy Policy.

Server log files

The provider of the website automatically collects and stores the following information in server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us:

  • Your device’s browser type and version
  • Your device’s operating system
  • The referrer URL
  • The host name of the accessing computer
  • The time of the server request
  • Your device’s IP address

We do not merge this data with other data sources.

The basis for the data processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the performance of a contract or for pre-contractual activities.

Analysis tools and advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the Google Analytics web analysis service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses “cookies”. Cookies are text files that are stored on your computer and which make it possible to analyse your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google Analytics cookies are stored on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising communications.

IP anonymisation

IP anonymisation is enabled on this website. As a result, your IP address will be truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area prior to transmission to the United States. Only in exceptional cases will your full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and truncated there. On behalf of the website operator, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage vis-à-vis the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser via Google Analytics will not be associated with other data by Google.

Browser plugin

You can prevent the storage of cookies via the corresponding settings in your browser software. However, please note that by doing so you may no longer be able to use all features of this website. In addition, you can prevent collection of the data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in via the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Objecting to data collection

You can prevent the collection of your data via Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be saved on your device, which prevents the collection of your data during future visits to this website: opt out of Google Analytics.

For more information about the use of user data by Google Analytics, please refer to Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

Contract data processing

We have entered into a contract data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements set out by the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographics and Interests in Google Analytics

This website uses the “Demographics and Interests” feature of Google Analytics. This makes it possible to compile reports that contain information about the age, gender and interests of visitors to the website. This data originates from interest-based advertising provided by Google as well as visitor data provided by third parties. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can disable this feature at any time via the ad settings in your Google Account, or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as outlined in the section entitled “Objecting to data collection”.

Google Analytics Remarketing

Our websites leverage the features of Google Analytics Remarketing in combination with the multi-device features of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick, which are provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

These features allow advertising target groups generated via Google Analytics Remarketing to be associated with the multi-device features of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. As a result, interest-based, personalised advertising that has been tailored to you on the basis of your previous user and browsing behaviour on one end device (e.g. a smartphone) can also be displayed on another of your end devices (e.g. a tablet or PC).

If you have granted your consent, Google will associate your web and app browsing history with your Google Account for this purpose. This means that the same personalised advertising messages can be displayed on any device you use to sign in to your Google Account.

To support this feature, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated IDs of users who are temporarily associated with our Google Analytics data in order to define and create target groups for multi-device advertising.

You can permanently opt out of multi-device remarketing/targeting by disabling personalised advertising in your Google Account via the following link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

The collected data will only be associated with your Google Account with your consent, which you can grant to Google or revoke (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). For data collection processes that are not associated with your Google Account (e.g. because you do not have a Google Account or have objected to the association), the collection of data is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest here lies in the fact that the website operator has an interest in performing anonymous analysis of the website’s visitors for advertising purposes.

For more information, including details of the respective data protection measures, please refer to Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.

Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking

This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising program provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”).

As part of Google AdWords, we use “conversion tracking”. When you click on an ad served by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is stored on your device. Cookies are small text files that are stored on the user’s computer by the internet browser. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used to personally identify the user. If the user visits certain pages of this website before the cookie has expired, both Google and we can determine that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page.

Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. The cookies cannot be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected via the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords advertisers who have opted for Conversion Tracking. The customers are informed of the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a web page containing a Conversion Tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify the users. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can opt out of this service by disabling the Google Conversion Tracking cookie in your browser’s user settings. Subsequently, you will not be included in the Conversion Tracking statistics.

“Conversion cookies” are stored on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising communications.

For more information about Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking, refer to Google’s Privacy Policy: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.

You can configure your browser to inform you before storing cookies and/or to store cookies on a one-time basis only or only in individual cases. You can also prevent the use of cookies in general or have them automatically deleted when you close your browser. Please note that disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.
